The mall will offer an authentic Chinese celebration with a breadth of experiences, prizes, and traditional entertainment.

Dubai, UAE, 26 January 2020:   Mall of the Emirates is bringing good luck and prosperity to the community until Saturday, 1 February as it hosts an authentic Chinese New Year celebration complete with rewards, honoured Chinese traditions, and magnificent entertainment.

In the spirit of good fortune, the mall is offering several generous opportunities to win prizes. Celebrating the lucky numbers this Chinese New Year, AED 12,000 in winnings are up for grabs each day for guests that spend AED 1,000 at any outlet. In line with the hóngbāo gift-giving tradition, when shoppers spend AED 500 in a given outlet, they will instantly receive a red packet with a surprise item from participating retailers. .

Roaming entertainment adds to the cultural excitement, with colourful dancing dragons performing against a musical backdrop each day. As audiences gather to witness its artful curves and twists, the dragon will surprise a select few by presenting its own hóngbāo rewards in red packets.

For added convenience, the mall has prepared a simple digital guide on how to honour the authentic traditions, which can be accessed at malloftheemirates.com. The guide includes a list of top F&B picks for each occasion, the brands that are offering exclusive clothing collections in honour of Chinese New Year, the entertainment schedule, prize draw details, and other helpful information.

Hussain Moosa at Majid Al Futtaim Properties – Director, Mall of the Emirates said: “Chinese New Year is such a vibrant festival, and we are thrilled to celebrate this year alongside our community. Mall of the Emirates has always been involved in cultural engagement, and on this occasion, our Chinese visitors can not only feel a little bit more at home within the mall, but also make the celebration unique to their experience in Dubai.”
