DSC's Board announces Organizing of “Dubai Artificial Intelligence Conference & Exhibition” and reviews other Important Reports

Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  02 July  2019:   Dubai Sports Council’s Board confirmed the importance of utilizing the artificial intelligence & technological applications to boost the sports field, as per the wise leadership’s policy 

DSC’s Board has explained that Dubai Sports Artificial Intelligence Conference & Exhibition to be convened on 14th & 15th Oct. 2019 with participation of elite group of top world companies & distinctive speakers. Approval is also made for the sessions & programs of the Conference; the first of its kind in UAE and the entire region.

The Conference’s details & other matters were all announced during the 5th periodical meeting of DSC’s Board, chaired by H.E. Mattar Al-Tayer, Deputy Chairman of DSC, in the presence of H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC, and the other Board Members; these are: Mr. Ali Bu Jusaim, Dr. Abdulla Al-Karam, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shaafar, Ms. Moaza Al-Marri & Ms. Laimia Khan.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Naser Aman Al-Rahma the Assistant Secretary General of DSC / Mr. Saleh Al-Marzoqi, Director of Corporate Support Dept. in DSC. 

H.E. Mattar Al-Tayer stated: “UAE is one of the top countries which support the implementation of sports artificial intelligence in all fields to enhance scientific development, boost the State’s achievements & economic durability and attain individuals’ happiness.

The sports sector needs to reflect this policy into reality and to utilize the UAE’s motivating environment and the technological development in various fields, via 5th generation techniques, to enable the country to present a vital role as an international center for the uses of artificial intelligence in sports field”.   

The meeting dealt with the proposal of wage ceiling for players of first teams, as drafted by DSC in coordination with Dubai clubs. The final draft of the wage ceiling proposal has been sent to clubs for review & remarks before been approved & put into effect within the kick off the upcoming sports season.

This proposal is part of DSC’s efforts to review mechanisms & rules of works in clubs besides the continuous updating of organizational & financial regulations in order to open ideal investment channels for financial resources of rational expenses in such way that copes with latest developments & plans of work, ratified by DSC. 

DSC’s Board surveyed means of supporting organizers of various sports events in the Emirate of Dubai and dealt with policies to enable them carry out respective tasks in this vital sector, which targets to maintain health & happiness of athletes & sports fans of multi-nationalities.

DSC confirmed the importance of unifying fruitful efforts of sports & social entities to support the organizing of sports events and attain the wise government’s vision to make sport as lifestyle and vital factor to enjoy happy life & acquire positive energy and to boost collaboration & co-existence among the various classes of society.
 
The meeting dealt with the final report of the 7th NAS Sports Tournament, organized by DSC during the last Holy Month of Ramadan as per the directives & generous patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai & Chairman of DSC, referring that the 7th edition of the Tournament was held with participation of huge numbers of 6535 professionals & amateurs from 90 nationalities.

The last edition of the Tournament comprised 13 sports competitions; among which were cricket & ice skating, which were added to the Tournament’s agenda for the first time.

The various competitions of the Tournament took place at DP World in Jebel Ali, Ski Slope in the Mall of the Emirates besides other sports facilities at 5 districts in Dubai such as Dubai Design District & Nad Al-Sheba. The meeting reviewed several events; top of which are the launch of Sports Fingerprint Award and the honoring of winner of the 1st version of the event; “Land Mark Group”. A dialogue session was also held under title “Sports Fingerprint”, addressed by several distinctive local & expatriate sports experts.   

The meeting also dealt with reports of DSC’s Permanent Committees and achievements attained during the first half of the year according to plans of work ratified by DSC’s Board.

The meeting reviewed correspondences, received from several local & international sports entities, and adopted necessary decisions with respect to the same.
