Huawei rolls out its first ‘HUAWEI Developer Day' series in the Middle East and North Africa

  • Over-100 IT and design startups participate in ‘HUAWEI Developer Day’ workshop held in Dubai
  • Series of workshops to be rolled out across the region until December 2019
 
Dubai, 11 November 2018: For the first time outside of China, Huawei has rolled out its ‘HUAWEI Developer Day’ workshop series bringing together the best smartphone developers across the Middle East & North Africa to announce HUAWEI developer alliance introduced in the region. The opening session was held in Dubai on 8 November, gathering more than 100 independent developer and design startups. 
 
Powered by the HUAWEI Developer Alliance, the workshops are aimed at providing developers with insights into HUAWEI AppGallery and HUAWEI Themes, through interactive presentations and competitions. Using this platform to do a deep-dive into the latest technologies, developers can create intelligent solutions to provide an unparalleled smartphone experience for Huawei users worldwide.

Currently, the HUAWEI AppGallery is the top two Android applications in MENA. Apart from providing exposure opportunities and one of the best distribution channels for MENA developers, HUAWEI AppGallery has an integrated billing system offering a seamless mobile payment platform – including credit card transactions, gift card and carrier billing. Additionally, the HUAWEI Themes also supports billing and payment functions allowing designers and developers to upload their creations and receive payments. 
 
HUAWEI Developer Day workshops in MENA will be held in Jordan next month, followed by Egypt, Pakistan, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi – running until December 2019. In addition to HUAWEI Developer Day workshop, Huawei mobile services will also bring series competition for developer and designer, such as Egypt AppCup associate with Egypt Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC),Honor global themes competition and MENA Theme development campus tour.
