Dubai, UAE, June 3, 2018:  Many women notice changes in their bodies post-pregnancy. Pregnancy can be tough on a woman's body - from the rapid weight gain (and subsequent loss), to over-expanding skin, to a baby pressing against your internal organs for months on end. In most of the cases, patients consult plastic surgeons because they are not comfortable with the way they feel physically and emotionally after the child bearings.

Plastic surgery is an option to restore and give back to the patient the lost confidence improving the shape of their bodies or improving the scars they have had. The decision to undergo a surgical procedure is a big one, it takes a lot of courage and consideration and it is important that you feel happy and secure with your choices every step of the way.  After taking this decision, many women feel motivated to “start a new life”. They work towards changing their diet habits, come back to the gym, and feel more confident is social activities.

Cosmetic surgery is growing fast in UAE. Having reliable hospitals with the latest technology and capable staff, reducing the necessity to travel outside, has been a great driving factor for the field to grow. A patient will be able to stay at home during the post operatory process and have access to the surgeon at all times. We offer a number of ‘Mommy Makeover’ options. There's no need to be embarrassed about your altered shape. Yes, you got a beautiful baby by sacrificing your figure, but you aren't being a selfish mom by wanting to focus on yourself. Said Dr. Juan Tadeo Krogulec, Specialist Plastic Surgeon, Medcare Women & Children Hospital

Some of the top procedures that women can go in for include, breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck and liposuction. Often, the abdominal skin that becomes stretched during pregnancy doesn’t go back after the baby is born. A ‘tummy tuck’ procedure, also know as an abdominoplasty, is a surgical procedure can take two to five hours from start to finish. We remove excess skin, may reposition your navel and give your weak abdominal muscles a new life by tightening the abdominal wall. The recovery can take upto 3 weeks to get back to normal lifestyle. Having fat sucked out of your body is very simple – and the results can be outstanding. We have some latest safe technologies that we use at Medcare, such as Laser Liposuction, Vaser Liposuction and infrasound liposuction.

Keep in mind, liposuction is not an alternative to weight reduction. It can, however, be effective in removing stubborn fat that doesn't react to diet and exercise. What this means is – don't be surprised if your doctor recommends that you lose more weight before embarking on this procedure. Depending on how much area you're looking to have liposuctioned, the procedure can take anywhere from 45 minutes to two hours. Bruising, soreness and even some numbness may occur but the final contour is usually evident by the three-month mark. You can be back to work in about one to two weeks but be prepared to wear a compression garment for up to six weeks to encourage your skin to contract and decrease the inevitable swelling.

Event with all of this, one needs to understand that the aging process will continue. Plastic surgery cannot stop the time. It is focused on improving and restoring health. Following a healthy lifestyle is very important to maintain results. Patients who think that plastic surgery will change 100% of their situation without any care from their side, and the ones who have unrealistic expectations, are not candidates for plastic surgery and need a psychological support. Having the right guidance and counselling is very important. Plastic surgery is one of the fields where we can control most of the complications. These are elective surgeries, and mean that the patient will be able to proceed with the surgery ONLY if he or she is in perfect conditions. This point reduces 95% of risk.  The best way to prepare is to understand why you are having the operation, what exactly will be performed, and what your results are likely to be. If there are medical issues such as high blood pressure or diabetes, these should be well controlled prior to surgery. As doctors and surgeons, we provide support in all steps of the way, so consult your doctor and make an informed and well thought out decision.
