UAE, January 23, 2018- Dubai Government Workshop recently paid a visit to the elderly wards of the Family Gathering Center in Dubai. The visit, which was led by Hamid Sultan Al Mutaiwee, Executive Director, Dubai Government Workshop, was aimed towards showing support for the elderly and the important role they play in the country’s development process—further consolidating the true spirit of volunteerism and the culture of giving. The visit also comes in response to the 'Day for Dubai' initiative that was launched by His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, which aims to enhance the role and concept of social responsibility and to celebrate the 'Year of Zayed.' In line with this, Dubai Government Workshop has expressed confidence in further instilling the values of good and giving and to enhance the spirit of social responsibility among its employees.

Al Mutaiwee said, “Today's visit to The Family Gathering Center is a humanitarian initiative that allows our employees to express their appreciation to the elderly in our community--our parents, grandparents and other senior members for the great role they have played in advancing the nation's development. The visit also looks towards stressing the importance of communication with various groups, including the elderly--conveying a message of gratitude and to inspire younger generations to achieve the vision of the UAE's wise leadership for a better future. The initiative translates the principles and values of our leadership, which will lead us to organize such quality focused initiatives to provide full support and enhance health care for the elderly, as they are the basis for the development of the country.”

Al Mutaiwee also emphasized on the need to unite both individuals and institutions to help spread the values of giving and sharing--motivating a culture of giving that is mutually supportive of the 'Year of Zayed.' It also helps enhance Dubai Government Workshop's commitment to support UAE Vision 2021, which sets the foundation of a vibrant Emirati society at the forefront of strategic priorities.
