Interpipe a key partner at high-level reception by Ukrainian Embassy in Qatar

Doha – Qatar, November 30th:  The Ukrainian Embassy in Qatar hosted recently a high-level reception for key private and public sector officials from Qatari ministries and state agencies.

Among the key guests were, H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Hossein Adeli Secretary-General of Gas Exporting Countries Forum and key business representatives from both countries. Leading Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe was a key partner of the event. 

At the opening ceremony, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar, Yevhen Mykytenko, spoke about the political, commercial, economic, cultural, and humanitarian collaborations between the two countries and emphasized the dynamics of its development and growth. 

Yevhen Mykytenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar, said: “With every passing year, we intensify the political dialogue between our countries and strengthen our economic relations. Over the first 10 months of 2016, the turnover of commodities between the two countries exceeded USD $35 million.”

He continued: “In Ukraine, Qatar is considered a truly important commercial and investment partner and a potential supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to our country. We are also proud that the Ukrainian company Interpipe presents its products in the Qatari market with dignity.”

Metal industry products are among the top Ukrainian export goods to Qatar. On average, they represent 30-35% of the overall annual value of Ukrainian exports to Qatar.

Andrey Burtsev, CCO for Middle East, Africa, and Asia markets, said: “Interpipe has been successfully working in the Gulf for approximately 20 years already. Our products are implemented in the largest construction projects in Qatar. For instance, we have supplied steel pipes for the Hamad International Airport, Lusail Multipurpose Hall, and Qatar Rail Red Line Metro. We have been in long-term collaboration with the Ukrainian legation in Qatar, and are truly grateful for their support and promotion of Ukrainian manufacturers. We are also very happy and proud that this grand reception has been arranged with the support of our company.
