Leading real estate development and management organisation honours His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

Dubai, UAE, July XX, 2015: wasl Asset Management Group has launched a series of charitable initiatives to mark the UAE’s Humanitarian Day. The leading property development and management organisation is using the occasion to pay tribute to His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, revered founder of the UAE, as the 11th anniversary of his passing coincides with the notable date.

“wasl’s charitable initiatives that commemorate UAE’s Humanitarian Day confirm the great love and affection we have for our founding father and the builder of our nation, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul,” Said Zainab Mohammed, CEO Property Management, and Marketing, wasl Asset Management Group.

“We have all gained from our founder’s knowledge the importance of humanitarian work, which strengthens our community’s security. We take from his teachings a culture of self-initiatives to benefit future generations through extending a helping hand to the needy, thereby assisting those in our society who are less fortunate than us,” she added.

The activities that wasl supported for the occasion included a group Iftar for children - some with special needs - and their families at Rashid Centre for the Disabled. Launched under the slogan ‘Zadd al Taqwa,’ the initiative was aimed at heightening community awareness about the issues, concerns and aspirations of children with physical challenges and to engage them with their able-bodied peers.

wasl has also been providing daily Iftar meals in collaboration with UAE charitable organisation Bait al Khair to a number of its tenants and key workers across different locations in Dubai. The company established the activity, which has so far benefitted more than 10,000 individuals, to pay homage to the true meaning of generosity and selflessness during Ramadan.

With a focus on staying healthy during the holy month, wasl launched several medical camps for workers on its projects and for tenants residing in its properties, including wasl square in Jumeirah, wasl Amber in Karama, Al Qusais and Muhaisnah. The camps allowed individuals and families to receive health check-ups and lifestyle advice that aim to keep the community in great shape.

wasl also used the occasion to encourage its employees to read the biography of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, gain inspiration from his humanitarian works and honour his legacy by contributing to charitable initiatives. The email to staff included a video clip that detailed the late Sheikh’s productive life and his commitment to building the UAE.

“The UAE Humanitarian Day, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, this year falls on the 19th of Ramadan, which is the date that our founding father Sheikh Zayed passed away. This is the perfect opportunity for citizens and residents of the UAE to express their feelings of love and loyalty to him and to commemorate his many achievements that have reached around the world,” added Ms. Mohammed.
