New device to provide range of benefits for educators and students

Casio Middle East FZE, announces the GCC launch of their innovative LampFree® Ultra Short Throw projector – the XJ-UT310WN. The world’s brightest available LampFree projector with an ultra-short throw range, the XJ-UT310WN offers a wide range of benefits and flexibility for educators and students across the region.

The new projector offers WXGA resolution and required connectivity plus a suite of application tools which easily integrate the advantages of today’s mobile technology into the classroom. Ideal for classroom use, the projector uses a mirror system which allows up to a 5.11-inch throw distance for a 60-inch image and eliminates background reflections and distractions caused by light from the projector’s lamp shining in the viewer’s eyes. This ultra-short throw range allows for use in space-restricted classroom environments and conference rooms while eliminating the need for a larger room for clearer projection.

Compared to traditional lamp-based projectors, this model consumes 1/3 less power per unit and eliminates the need for expensive projection lamps that often need replacement. This makes the projector one of the most cost-effective LampFree® projectors on the market with a long light source life measuring approximately 20,000 hours. An original optical engine achieves high-efficiency light generation, while inhibiting dimming of the projection light as time goes by. Power consumption with the brightest setting is only 180 watts and eco modes can reduce power consumption up to 50 percent.

The projector also has a new structure that is developed to enhance dust resistance and prevents the deterioration of brightness caused by dust accumulation. The projector even enables educators to display content from a mobile device, which can also be used to control presentations eliminating the need for additional hardware and equipment.

“Casio takes great pride in developing ground-breaking technologies and innovative products that lead the way in education technology and our new Ultra Short Throw projector does just that,” said Tsuneo Nagai, Managing Director of Casio Middle East. “It will fundamentally change the status quo in the education space, and deliver the benefits of LampFree projection to schools and educators in the region, while providing enhanced features that will illuminate any classroom.”

Weighing 5.5 kg, Casio’s XJ-UT310WN enables projection from data files stored on a USB memory device*. Casio’s original C-Assist dedicated app enables users to conduct sophisticated wireless operations and presentations with a wide variety of sources including smartphones, tablets and laptop computers, allowing educators to access and explain subject content, illustrations and graphics easily.
The mobile application allows educators to display and annotate presentations from a mobile device, as well as capture and save. In addition, educators can open an Internet browser and display content in real-time. There is also an image capture function using the mobile device’s camera to snap an image and send it to the projector.

The built in 2 GB of memory allows many file formats, such as PDF and QuickTime, to be stored in the projector for quick and easy playback. A full range of input terminals including HDMI RGB and video inputs provide connectivity to standard hardware sources. Audio inputs and a built-in 16 watt speaker ensure sound clarity and a microphone terminal allows for teacher sound reinforcement.
