Dubai, UAE, 18 August 2026: In collaboration with Moms, Pops & Tots, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will host Ready, Get Set, and Back 2 School on Friday and Saturday, August 21 and 22. The event aims to help students and their families prepare for the new academic year with confidence and enthusiasm through a diverse program combining educational and recreational activities with interactive experiences.
Fatma Fikree, Acting Director of the Events and Communication Department, Head of Activities & Events Section at Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, said: "Preparing for a new academic year involves more than simply getting school uniforms and stationery ready. It also means preparing children psychologically and emotionally, nurturing their self-confidence, and motivating them to return to the classroom with enthusiasm and positivity after a long holiday. With this in mind, we have created the event to give families a comprehensive experience that combines practical support, reliable information, and meaningful activities."
Sam Malik, Founder of Moms, Pops & Tots, said: "This event is an opportunity for families and students to explore extracurricular activities and discover areas that align with children's interests and passions, including sports, arts, music, and more. This can make the preparation period for the new academic year easier and more enjoyable. It also gives parents the opportunity to meet representatives from schools and nurseries, and learn about different activity providers, while children can take part in hands-on experiences and workshops that help them develop new skills in an interactive, pressure-free environment."
The two-day event will offer a comprehensive program of activities for children and parents, including the live children's show "The Fixies Live Show," produced by Animotion MENA, featuring meet and greet moments with beloved characters Simka and Nolik. The program will also include a variety of interactive experiences, such as LEGO building activities by Brick Burrow, remote-controlled car racing by RCCCities, creative woodworking with Wood Wizards, and sensory activities with Playnest, alongside a range of educational experiences.
The program will also feature interactive storytelling sessions presented by the Emirates Literature Foundation, as well as sessions led by Mofida Saeed Al Dajil and Victoria Hopkin from The Academy Council, aimed at developing early reading skills and fostering a love of reading among children. Dedicated sessions for children and parents on emotional regulation and mindfulness will also be held, helping them begin the academic year with calmness and balance, in collaboration with Generation YUGES.
Furthermore, the event will include interactive educational sessions covering topics related to preparing for the new academic year, including nutrition, reading and writing, sleep, and managing anxiety. These sessions were designed in an interactive format that encourages children to participate, ask questions, and express their opinions, while giving them the opportunity to engage in independent learning experiences that enhance their knowledge and skills.
A number of schools, nurseries, and family-focused brands will also participate in the event, giving parents the opportunity to explore available options, ask questions, and make informed decisions in preparation for the new academic year.
