Dubai, UAE: For Kerala's vast community in Dubai, these are the traditions that make Onam feel like Onam. This August, BurJuman Mall, in partnership with Raphael, is bringing them together in the heart of the city with a celebration designed around the culture, traditions and sense of community that define the festival.

Running until 29 August, Onam at BurJuman brings together floral artistry, cultural performances, festive shopping and dining, creating multiple ways for families and visitors to experience the season.

At the heart of the festivities is one of Onam's most recognisable traditions – the Pookalam.

On 22 August, BurJuman will invite the community to transform the mall into a vibrant display of floral artistry as teams compete in the mall's Pookalam Competition. With AED 18,000 worth of prizes and gifts up for grabs, creativity will be rewarded too. The rhythms and traditions of Kerala come alive

The celebration goes beyond flowers. Between 15 to 29 August (Weekends), BurJuman will come alive with traditional performances celebrating Kerala's rich cultural heritage.

Visitors can experience the graceful movements of Thiruvathira and Mohiniyattam, alongside the unmistakable energy and rhythm of Chendamelam, with performers bringing moments of celebration to different areas of the mall, 6pm onwards.

Throughout the festival period, the Onam Bazaar by The Souk on Level 2 brings together traditional attire, jewellery and accessories, festive décor, handicrafts, gifts, snacks, delicacies and more – giving visitors a dedicated destination to get Onam-ready.

From the colours of the Pookalam and the rhythms of Chendamelam to festive shopping, food and cultural performances, this Onam, BurJuman is bringing a little piece of Kerala to the heart of Dubai.
