Sharjah, September 6, 2021:  The Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) discussed with Saudi Arabia's Family Affairs Council (FAC) ways to expand joint cooperation, with the aim to ensure the best representation of the family, woman, and child, whether locally or at the Gulf level.

This came during the consultative meeting recently held via video conference technology, between Dr. Khawla Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Twaijri, the Secretary-General of Family Affairs Council.

Present at the meeting were Moudhi Al Shamsi, Head of Department of Family Development Centres (DFDC), Salha Ghabish, Head of the Cultural and Media Office, and Dr. Hessa Khalfan Al Ghazal, Executive Director of Sharjah Baby-Friendly Office.

Launching a day for the Gulf family was among the important topics discussed, in addition to reviewing joint cooperation mechanisms in designing and implementing various programs and events to achieve the sustainable development of the family in general and for the woman and child in particular.
The meeting looked into the joint efforts to hold family-related conferences and seminars at the local, regional and international levels.
In addition to discussing topics of common interest, the participants also touched on the importance of exchanging experiences and skills to help promote the family status.

While welcoming the attendees, Dr. Khawla Al Mulla said: 'The meeting falls within the Council's keenness to enhance communication with the Family Affairs Council to do whatever it takes to strengthen the role and status of the Emirati, Saudi, and Gulf families.

We also seek to enhance the capabilities of families to help them raise generations that can assume their responsibilities in their communities, ones that are proud of their identity and uphold inherent values.

Al Mulla stressed the importance of joint work, cooperation and coordination in programs, events and activities and adopting effective mechanisms to maintain family cohesion and exchange experiences in the family counseling field and scientific research in family issues.
For her part, Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Twaijri said: 'This meeting is a significant step forward towards creating joint initiatives to enhance social cohesion and achieve support and empowerment for the Saudi and Emirati families.

She called for the importance of joint work between the two councils to adopt and exchange experiences and effective mechanisms in all family issues, in order to achieve a stable and secure society in both countries.

Al-Twaijri added: 'We look forward to continuing such meetings, which are the best way to enhance coordination in all fields and exchange experiences and best practices.

This contributes to achieving development for all family members and strengthening its position to be able to do its job according to today's requirements, she concluded.
