
du collaborates with Al Jalila Foundation to transform lives in the UAE
Dubai, UAE, 6th July 2021: du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), welcomed senior personnel from the Al Jalila Foundation, a member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to its Head Office to discuss the recent long-term partnership announcement between the two parties. As part of its annual commitment to giving back to the local community , du will donate AED 1 million to the Foundation, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through medical research, education, and treatment in the UAE. du CEO Fahad Al Hassawi personally met with his counterpart Dr. Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, CEO of Al Jalila where the two discussed the foundation’s latest projects, including the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital, which is currently under development.
Fahad Al Hassawi said: “Collaborating with organizations that share our vision for improving community welfare has always a top priority at du. Our partnership with Al Jalila Foundation will see enable us to make valuable contributions to the local community in due course, ensuring people receive the best quality in healthcare and education. It was a pleasure to welcome Dr. Abdulkareem to our headquarters. Our discussion was enjoyable and constructive in equal measure, and we look forward to making a real difference together in the months and years ahead.”
Dr Abdulkareem thanked du for their generosity and long-term support to Al Jalila Foundation research programs to advance medical breakthroughs to support national prosperity. He had the opportunity to update Fahad Al Hassawi and the du leadership team on the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital: “In our mission to transform lives, Al Jalila Foundation works with its partners and donors to deliver innovative treatment, education and research programs. Nothing gives us greater joy than to see the lives that Al Jalila Foundation has touched and the impact that at our healthcare programs have on patients. The UAE’s first cancer charity hospital aims to redefine cancer care for patients in need and we look forward to working with our partners’ to establish a state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer facility that will become a beacon of hope for cancer patients and their families.”
