Dubai, 08 April 2021: Professional football stars – Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi and Egyptian midfielder Trézéguet will be putting their Free Fire skills to the test as they go head-to-head in an online Free Fire charity competition.

Hakimi who plays for Inter Milan in the Serie A and Trézéguet who plays for Aston Villa in the English Premier League, will swap their football boots for their smartphones on April 9th at 7PM GMT+2 (Egypt time) or 6PM GMT+1 (Morocco time).

The winner of the competition will be rewarded with USD $20,000, which will be donated to a charity of his choice. The competition will see them navigate their way around the Free Fire battlefield, overcoming any challenges with the aim to seek survival and be the last person standing.

Hakimi’s team, #HakimiSquad, will feature Ali Omar, Badr Eddine Amrous (BADRO TV), and Jamal Amaid (HEROSHIMA YT). On the other side Kafa Douzi (KAFA - ßÝÜÇÁ), Wassim Dhieb (WASSIMOSS TV), and Maha Makarim (FF Double Trouble) will complete Trézéguet’s team, #TrezeguetSquad.

Fans across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region can join viewers from around the world to see how the two football stars fare in the most popular mobile game on Garena Free Fire MENA’s official YouTube page.

The competition is part of Garena’s ongoing efforts to excite fans of both Free Fire and football in the region and continues to find ways to combine players’ interest for football into the game.

In 2020, international football stars James Rodriguez and David Ospina each captained teams of Free Fire influencers in an online charity tournament to raise funds for a children foundation. The match attracted over a million views, and ultimately saw James’ squad emerge victorious.

Free Fire also collaborated with Cristiano Ronaldo, not only turning him into an in-game character - Chrono - but building a whole in-game universe around him.
