Ras Al Khaimah, UAE September 13, 2020:  The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research has announced the launch of a new computer programming course for Ras Al Khaimah Emirati students who are keen to lead the UAE nation into the future.

The initiative forms part of the university preparation program at the institution, with the free course commencing October 3 and lasting 12 months. Combining remote classes with on-site lessons at Ras Al Khaimah Academy, the program has been formulated taking into account the rules and requirements for social distancing to ensure the health and safety of all participants.

The Foundation's management’s plan will see 20 students selected to participate in this exclusive opportunity, with the course syllabus specifically designed to enable them to learn a set of skills most in demand in the labor market. The organizers of the initiative emphasized that there are no specific preconditions for the training program other than a desire to learn, develop and be enthusiastic to change the world.

Students keen to apply to the course should complete the online form by September 18, and review all instructions related to this topic through the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research’s website.

The topics that will be covered during the program will focus on the Internet of Things, Python programming and 3D printing. Through hands-on activities, students will gain experience using microcontrollers, coding computer programs, and designing and printing 3D models.

The program will also cover the development of computational thinking skills, flexibility in working methods, confidence enhancement, and many other benefits associated with computer programming for all participating students, including those who are not planning to complete further studies in information technology.
