Ras Al Khaimah to Host the 7th Arab conference of Investment in Food Security

July 14, 2019: Ras Al Khaimah, UAE:  H.E Mohamed Ali Musabbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ras al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that hosting the 7th Arab Conference of Investment in Food Security in Ras Al Khaimah offers a unique opportunity to enhance the investment in the agriculture and fish resources sectors in UAE, and Ras Al Khaimah in particular. The conference shall bring together over 250 countries from all over the world, which offers the participants an excellent platform for networking and represent a valuable opportunity to highlight the emirate’s capabilities in this sector and other sectors, while it builds its position as a promising investment destination on regional and international levels.

He further noted that the conference shall highlight the importance of the smart agriculture, which focus on the proper use of smallest land, with minimum water consumption to come out with best crop production; the smart agriculture solution offers promising future option to encounter the limited resources and climate change that affect the agriculture sector in the Arab world. 

Al Nuaimi added that agriculture sector in UAE is supported by the necessary resources to achieve the sustainable agriculture development and the considerable efforts made by the government to boost the investment in the agriculture, animal and fish resources in the emirate. 

Al Nuaimi made his statement while signing an agreement between Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Arab Chambers represented by Dr Khalid Hanafi, Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Chamber, during the 22nd Arab German Business Forum which took place recently in Germany. The agreement has been signed in presence of by H. E Saeed Mohamed Al Sayyah, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber and members of the Arab Chambers delegates.

The two parties discussed developing the cooperation, and the key issues and arrangements for the upcoming 7th Arab Conference of Investment in Food Security in Ras Al Khaimah. Under patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, member of Supreme Council, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the conference is scheduled to take place in the period from 17 to 18th of December, 2019, under theme “the Best Investment in Technology for sustainable food security in the Arab World”.

Al Nuaimi further highlighted the efforts made by Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to participate in the events and global forums to showcase the investment opportunities and services offered, sign agreements, agreements, organize exhibitions and conferences and to facilitate meetings, forums and conferences that help in reinforcing the cooperation among the different companies and institutions on local and global levels.

The 7th Arab Conference of Investment in Food Security in Ras Al Khaimah and with the significant expected participants from countries and organisations represents a unique platform that offer the opportunity for all the participants to share strategies and experiences. To highlight the new opportunities and how to improve the business environment and partnerships to achieve significant change in the agricultural and food investment.

The conference agenda shall focus on the needs of the private sector and investors in the food and agriculture to achieve and enhance the food security. The conference shall be attended by senior experts and professionals from all over the world to exchange experiences and opinions in this field. Al Nuaimi added. 
Dr. Khalid Hanafi, Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Chambers praised the role of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and further highlighted the challenges of the food security such as the scarcity of the natural resources, while the demand is increasing.

He affirmed that the only option for the Arab countries is to use the new technologies of the smart agriculture to encounter the climate change challenges and the limited resources.
