Shopping assistance for Arabic-speaking passengers in the summer months
July 07, 2018: Following the successful Chinese Shopping Assistant Project in Terminal 2 and the excellent results of the pilot project for Arabian guests in 2017, Munich Airport is ready to offer the 'Arabic Shopping Assistant Service' again this summer. From July 16 until September 2, 2018, Arabic-speaking passengers in Terminal 2 can request the help of a personal shopping assistant.
The assistants, who are native speakers of Arabic will be available daily from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm to help overcome the cultural and language barriers between passengers and sales staff. This service, which is free of charge for passengers, is intended to create a pleasant and convenient shopping experience. The shopping assistants can help with such issues as sales tax refunds and duties. They are easy to spot, with uniforms bearing the logo 'Arabic Shopping Assistant'.
The shops in Terminal 2 are aware of the service and can call in a shopping assistant on request.
With the shopping assistant concept, Munich Airport – still the only airport in Europe to be awarded 'Five-Star Airport' status by the aviation consultancy Skytrax – is further enhancing its extensive range of services, offering its passengers from the Arabic-speaking countries greater convenience and an even more pleasant all-round airport experience. Travelers in search of luxury can shop to their heart's content on 'Maximilian Street' on Level 5 in Terminal 2. Named for the iconic Munich avenue famed for exclusive brands, it features such high-end labels as Bottega Veneta, Burberry, GUCCI, Tod’s, Mulberry, Hermès as well as exclusive accessories, watches and jewelry.
