All our products are exclusively made in our artisans’ workshops in Provence. Environmentally friendly our making is based on natural raw materials and recyclable packaging.
A singular color code
The ocher color of PARFUMS DE LA BASTIDE is inspired by Roussillon in the heart of Lubéron, an extraordinary place where the soil is full of natural pigments in warm and vibrant tones. This ocher reminds us of the land of Provence where a multitude of typical plants, flowers and trees of the region grow, and from which the natural essences are extracted.
The ocher is the traditional color of the BASTIDE.
A Bastide is a Provençal mansion usually built in the middle of fields of lavender fields, olive trees and vineyard and has given its name to the brand.
A boutique concept
From the beginning, the founders chose to launch the brand directly in contact with their customers through a boutique ideally located in the center of Aix en Provence, a city that symbolizes both the history and the revival of Provence, close to the mountains of the Lubéron and the Mediterranean Sea.
The brand has grown thanks to its local customers and visitors staying in this idyllic region.
Delighted by the discovery they experience in the shop and the unique attention they receive, the visitors are the best ambassadors in France and abroad.
The signature of independent designers, the reasoned approach of a local craftsmanship and the quality of the creations guarantee a pleasant shopping that gives meaning to the world today.
PARFUMS DE LA BASTIDE is a genuine and simple concept destined to share with its customers a Provence lifestyle and a behavior in coherence with its values.

Sustainable development
It is common sense for us to simplify the channels and operations, which naturally leads us to a sustainable development approach. We always give priority to handmade production and small series, guarantee of quality and preservation of artisanal know-how.
Our supply, manufacturing and storage sites are all based in Provence and are geographically very close to each other.
Furthermore, we prefer to integrate all the different manufacturing steps in the same production site for each of our know-how: perfumes, candles, soaps...Thus, we limit our emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) impact by reducing transportation. Regarding the creation, we do our best to be eco-responsible by using natural and renewable materials (glass, paper, metal, wood…). We want to avoid superfluous, not using over-sized packaging
Perfumed candles
Elaborated and handmade by our candle master in Aubagne, our Provencal scented candles are specifically created for home, and respect strict regulation rules. A collection of eight scents revisiting in a contemporary approach the emblematic scents of Provence.
Our scented candles fully benefit from a perfumer know-how and a high-quality standard. We show the same rigor to create our candles than our perfumes, our candles being concentrated at 10%.
We work in Grasse with the leader in the production of natural raw materials whose key values are being: natural, human and innovation.
The 'true product without artifice' is used for all our perfumes and scented products. The perfumers who formulate our creations benefit from an expertise of 160 years. They keep the artisanal spirit and perfectly master the latest technics, thereby optimizing the best of nature.
Our making secrets
Each candle is handmade from the start to the end. The organic and vegetable waxes are of the highest quality and the wicks are made in pure cotton. Each of the materials has been rigorously tested and selected. The wax blend is specific to each scent so that our candles can express themselves with trueness and balance. Our making process ensure an evenly burning process without emission of black smoke and a burning time of at least 50 hours.
Our candles are manufactured per the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and are totally exempt from:
CMR-substances, Glycol ethers, Ethylene oxide, Heavy metals, PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons), Nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE) or derivatives, Phthalates, PCT and/or PCB
Perfumes
The original collection, an olfactive journey through natural essences of Provence, sublimated in subtle and contemporary creations.
Giving value to the French craftsmen know-how. Highlight the art of perfume, combining traditional knowhow and the most advanced techniques, through talented artisans and perfumers. Share our inspirations and our vision to “parfumeurs-artistes” who possess a unique expertise to transcribe by assembling the most beautiful natural essences. Our olfactive creations result from this close collaboration. We work with the Robertet House historically located in Grasse, well-known for its impressive palette of natural raw materials from plants, flowers or wood. Its in-house perfumers have a huge experience in formulating perfumes mainly composed of natural essences.
Our perfumes are concentrated at 15%, gradually revealing the subtlest notes.
We pay a special attention to maturation and maceration, crucial steps in the making process to sublimate essences.
Our making secrets
It is a few kilometers from Grasse, the world capital of perfume, that is made by hand the whole process which leads from raw materials, to our finalized perfumes.
The first step of essences maturation takes from one to three weeks. Thus, we get a concentrate that reveals the best of all the essences. Then, the concentrate is added in alcohol for a period of maceration in stainless steel tanks. It can last up over one-month period, depending on the essences we use and on the olfactory result we want to achieve. After being frosted and filtered, the perfume is ready to be packaged. Along the whole process we refrain from using conservatives and do not use perfume colorings and UV filters. By hand, for every single product, our glass bottle is checked, filled, crimped and sealed with a cap. It is finally cleaned with a soft cloth before being packaged and cello wrapped.
Bath
As clear as fountains water in Aix en Provence, as blue as the creeks in Cassis, this line revives the bathing ritual. Intensely fresh, these creations bring us well-being and vitality. They are made by artisans, soap manufacturers and perfumers in the areas of Grasse and Manosque.
Less concentrated than our “Eaux de parfum”, our “Eaux parfumées” and our scented soaps fully benefit from this know-how and 'perfumer' high quality standard.
Our making secrets
Our soaps are manufactured by soap master craftsmen in Haute Provence, near Manosque. The saponification is made following the 'Marseille traditional method': soft cooking in a stainless-steel cauldron. On site, the products are then filled and packaged by hand. Our formulation is compliant to all the pharmaceutical and environmental regulations is composed of palm oil and Provence olive oil.
Our formulation is naturally biodegradable and does not contain any synthesis surfactant (EDTA, BHT, Phthalate, PEG, paraben).
The soap workshop strictly follows a sustainable development approach and stick to the framework 'Responsible Carbon Commitment'. The manufacturing process needs just a little bit of water, moderated heat and does not release toxic waste in the environment.
Cologne
Inspired by sage, this powerful aromatic plant with velvet leaves, typical of Provence.
This line revisits the spirit of the past, when our grandfathers splashed fresh Eau de cologne onto their body, as the ultimate and essential gesture of the morning toilet after shaving.
It is made by our artisan perfumer and soap makers from the Grasse and Manosque areas
Composed around sage with many essences of citrus and aromatic herbs, it is “the cologne by excellence”, brought up to date in a contemporary way. It provides well-being and dynamism, with elegance.
Our making secrets
It's in a workshop of Saint Rémy de Provence are printed by hand our shower soaps. Offering excellent resistance to water, screen printing in ink fits perfectly in our approach to sustainable production. The releases are almost non-existent and the energy consumption is very limited.
