
UAE saddened by the loss of Sheikh Rashid, son of Dubai's ruler
UAE - Dubai, 19 September 2015: Today, UAE mourns the death of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the eldest son of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
Sheikh Rashid died of a heart attack on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
Sheikh Rashid, will leave a special place in people’s hearts. He was a known football fan and owner of Zabeel Racing International. He was a very prominent sports enthusiast who had joined several international and local competitions; has wowed many of his followers and made the country proud by winning 2 Gold medals in the 2006 Doha Asian Olympics and many other sporting contests.
Everyone was saddened by this loss and has been offering prayers and condolences.
The Dubai ruler’s court has declared a three-day mourning starting today while UAE flags will be flown at half mast in observance of this mourning period.
Prayers for the late Sheikh Rashid will be held at Zabeel mosque, this evening, and his remains will be buried in Umm Hurair cemetery, Bur Dubai.
