Dubai, UAE, 2 October 2026: Throughout October, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will host a diverse cultural and knowledge programme featuring Andalusian manuscripts, Emirati literature, poetry, and audiovisual translation.
The programme opens with a panel marking International Translation Day, exploring audiovisual translation, the relationship between words and images, and the translator’s role in creating experiences that resonate across languages and cultures.
The Library will also present “Andalusian Manuscripts: Contemporary Relevance and Civilisational Significance,” by researcher Adiba Romero, highlighting the intellectual and civilisational heritage of Andalusian manuscripts and their role in contemporary intercultural dialogue. The session will be followed by an Andalusian musical evening featuring Mwashahat performed by the Arab Choir.
Emirati literature will take centre stage with discussions and signings of Maryam Al Zarouni’s The Years of the Maghr: A Stranger’s Biography, published through the Qalam Creative Writing Programme, and Aisha Sultan’s The Courtyard of Strangers, published by Almutawassit.
As part of its commitment to accessible knowledge, the Library will participate for the first time in the eighth Access Abilities Expo 2026, at Dubai World Trade Centre from 19–21 October, showcasing services and initiatives supporting people of determination.
