• AED50,000 Worth of Prizes to be Given Away to 500 Minor Bondholders
• Minors Comprise 15 Per Cent of Total Bondholders

Dubai-UAE: 6 August 2013 - National Bonds Corporation PJSC, a unique UAE leader in Sharia compliant savings and investment schemes, today announced the launch of Eid Prizes, a unique initiative that will see the savings scheme give away prizes worth AED50,000 to 500 lucky minor bondholders through special draws scheduled to be held on 11 August.

In addition to encouraging minors to adopt the culture of saving and look upon the practice as a rewarding habit, the initiative seeks to support parents of minors through broadening their awareness on the value of regular savings in covering the increasing costs of education. As a key objective, the initiative is designed to eventually facilitate a promising future for children.

National Bonds Corporation has taken on the onus to sensitize the youth, especially minors in the UAE towards savings. As part of this objective, the monthly draws giving away a scholarship to two minors were introduced in the new rewards program. Following the implementation of the scheme, National Bonds registered a notable increase in the number of minor bondholders that rose to 105,915, which translates into 15 per cent of the total bondholders standing at 718,520. Of the minor bondholders, 53 per cent are male while the remaining 47 per cent are female.
 
National Bonds, which is licensed and regulated by the UAE Central Bank, provides UAE nationals, as well as residents and non-residents with a credible and safe savings opportunity. Minors can also own National Bonds provided the bonds are purchased by the parent/guardian. Each bond costs AED10, with a minimum purchase of AED100.
