Mr. V.O.Sebastian, a leading name in UAE's NRI circle, has been conferred with the Golden Award by the IBPC (Indian Business and Professional Council) , Dubai Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC), Dubai for 38 years of professional life and contribution to Indo-U.A.E. economic relationship. IBPC is the only recognised representative organisation of Indian Business and Professionals in Dubai. The award is recognition for the dynamic role played by Mr. Sebastian to nurture and grow Indo-UAE economic relations. Mr. Sebastian received the award from His Excellency T. P. Seetharaman, Indian Ambassador to the U. A. E. during the 65th Indian Republic day in a glittering ceremony at Hotel Ritz carlton, DIFC, Dubai on 25th January.
Mr. Sebastian has been playing a vital role ever since he landed in Dubai in 1975. He played a crucial role in the growth and development of the Al Abbas Group, of which he was an integral part till 2012. From a humble beginning he rose to the position of Group Managing Director, no mean feat considering UAE's dynamic business set up. He was responsible for bringing India's premier business school XLRI to Dubai and today he is the Chairman of AIMS, the exclusive partner for XLRI for GCC countries. His professional acumen has made Sebastian synonymous with leading brand names including IBM, Konica Minolta, Develop etc., He is well known for his expertise in the sales and leasing of reprographic products in the region of which he is considered as a pioneer.
Mr. Sebastian is also known as a prominent NRI who has made substantial investments in India. The projects supported by him include Cochin International Airport, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship – Bangalore & Kochi. He is very actively involved in several social, cultural and charitable institutions and is noted for his tireless involvement in the upliftment of the under privileged. He played a crucial role as the President of Indian Relief Committee. He has also been instrumental in providing employment for a large number of Indians. He has won numerous recognitions including ‘One of the top 33 businessmen from Kerala in Gulf Countries in the year 2008-09'.
