Dubai, UAE, 22 October 2026: Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has concluded its first participation as a strategic partner in the eighth edition of AccessAbilities Expo 2026, held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 19 to 21 October. The Library used the occasion to highlight its accessible knowledge services, facilities and interactive experiences, demonstrating its commitment to making cultural and learning opportunities accessible to all.

Over the three days, the Library’s stand welcomed People of Determination, their families, specialists and other visitors, offering an opportunity to explore its services and initiatives first-hand. Visitors took part in interactive activities, including printing their names in Braille, and learned more about the accessible resources available at the Library and how to use them.

The Library highlighted its extensive accessible collection, which includes more than 2,500 books in Arabic and English printed in Braille, over 10,000 audio resources, and e-books and audiobooks available through the “A World in Your Language” initiative and the Libby platform. It also showcased assistive devices and technologies that help people who are blind or have low vision access knowledge independently.

Visitors were invited to try the Emprint Braille printer, explore samples of Braille books, and learn how to access audio resources through Library membership and databases. The Library also introduced its membership programme for People of Determination and explained how to register. As part of its “A World Reads” initiative, it distributed a selection of books to visitors.

The Library also presented the accessibility features incorporated across its facilities in line with the Dubai Universal Design Code. These include accessible routes and ramps, Braille signage, audible and visual alarm systems, assistive equipment and sensory pods. Its Autism-Friendly certification further reflects the Library’s efforts to create a welcoming cultural and learning environment that considers the needs of visitors with diverse requirements.

The Library’s participation at AccessAbilities Expo 2026 forms part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its services, facilities and initiatives, and to expand People of Determination’s access to knowledge and cultural resources. Through this work, the Library aims to support greater independence and participation in cultural and intellectual life, while continuing to serve as an inclusive cultural and knowledge institution for all members of the community.
