Abu Dhabi-UAE: 28 September 2026 – On the sidelines of the second day of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice – Abu Dhabi 2026, His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice of the UAE and President of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice – Abu Dhabi 2026, accompanied ministers of justice, ministers of interior, and high-level delegations participating in the Congress on a visit to Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts (ADREA) on Al Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi. During the visit, the guests were briefed on the institution's mission to preserve the heritage of Arabian horsemanship and classical equestrian arts, while passing this knowledge on to future generations through specialised educational and cultural programmes.
The delegation toured the academy's facilities, which include performance arenas, stables, a specialised equestrian library, and exhibition spaces that showcase the history of the relationship between horses and humanity across different civilisations. The institution is recognised as the fifth of its kind worldwide and the first outside Europe dedicated to classical equestrian arts.
Visitors also learned about the institution's efforts to promote the authentic values of horsemanship and strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as a global centre for preserving and advancing this rich cultural heritage.
The visit also featured presentations highlighting ADREA's approach to combining the preservation of long-standing equestrian traditions with internationally recognised standards in training, education, and horse care. The institution seeks to celebrate one of the UAE's most enduring cultural traditions while introducing international visitors to the values of courage, discipline, respect, and responsibility that are deeply rooted in Arabian horsemanship.
The visit formed part of the Congress's accompanying programme, which aims to introduce international delegates to the cultural and civilisational landmarks of the UAE and to showcase national initiatives dedicated to safeguarding heritage and promoting its transmission to future generations, reflecting the important role of culture and heritage in the country's sustainable development journey.
