Dubai, UAE – 17 September 2026: The Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) hosted a dedicated international session on the second day of GISEC Global 2026, bringing together members of the International Coalition for Cybersecurity Workforce (ICCSW) to advance international cooperation and alignment in cybersecurity workforce development.
The session focused on strengthening alignment between cybersecurity skills frameworks, professional standards and career pathways internationally, while enabling Coalition members to exchange expertise and experiences in support of a more connected cybersecurity workforce capable of responding to evolving needs.
Advancing International Collaboration
The programme included a keynote delivered by Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, Executive Director of Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Management at the Dubai Electronic Security Center, exploring the development of the Coalition and its role in strengthening international cooperation on cybersecurity workforce development.
The session also marked the launch of the ICCSW website and the release of the Coalition's first set of reports and policies, making its outputs available to the wider international community.
Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, Executive Director of Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Management at the Dubai Electronic Security Center, said: "Developing cybersecurity capabilities can no longer be addressed within national boundaries alone. From Shared Frameworks to Practical Capabilities
During the session, Coalition members discussed how national cybersecurity skills frameworks can be better aligned and translated into practical workforce capabilities, supporting greater consistency in the concepts and standards related to cybersecurity skills and professional competencies across different markets.
The session forms part of the ICCSW's wider efforts to strengthen international cooperation on cybersecurity workforce development and establish common areas of reference that support governments, employers, academic institutions, training providers and cybersecurity professionals.
