Two days into its largest ever edition, Intersec 2014 has been training the focus of the regional safety and security community on some of the vital issues and concerns that affect the industry today.
The first two days saw a host of new exhibitors from across the globe making their presence felt among buyers and decision makers of the region, unveiling new products and services tailored for the Middle East market.
The Middle East's foremost international trade and networking platform for safety, security and fire protection, also saw a wide spectrum of leading regional industry professionals interacting with international experts at the much-awaited and highly-regarded Intersec Conference Series.
Lt. Col. Jamal Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of Preventive Safety Department, Dubai Civil Defence said: “We view Intersec as our annual feast, as it brings together all the professionals of safety, security and fire protection industries under one roof. This helps us to be updated with the latest technologies and research in fire - fighting and fire protection sectors. As Dubai has won Expo 2020 we have our own strategy in order to be ready for such huge events. This is part of the national agenda set by HHSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which is to make UAE the safest and the most secure place in the world. For this we must achieve a “four minute response time” for all emergency calls (the current global response time is six minutes).“
The first two days saw a series of speakers make presentations about the vital role technical textiles play in enhancing wearer safety in the work environment at the Techtextil Middle East Symposium.
Yesterday (Monday, January 20th) witnessed a wide-ranging spectrum of regional engineers, designers, architects and safety industry professionals attend the popular IOSH ME Occupational Health Seminar and the Safety Design in Buildings.
Today's final day will turn the spotlight on the rising threat of mobile phone crime. This is highly relevant in today's world, with the widespread and unfettered use of mobile devices in everyday life. The conference organised by the Dubai Police will address key factors behind the rise in mobile phone crime and provide suggestions and safeguards against this threat.
With eleven events, Messe Frankfurt is one of the world's leading organisers of fairs and congresses for the expanding international field of safety and security technology. Eight trade fairs and three high-grade congresses in Germany, Asia, the Middle East and South America provide optimum opportunities for gaining a foothold in these dynamic growth markets.
