An innovative new competition being presented by Paperworld Middle East will highlight the importance of recycling in schools and promote the use of sustainable stationery materials.
The competition will involve over 169 schools across the UAE, where Dubai’s schools will be invited by the KHDA to submit their best recycling projects following internal school competitions. Schoolchildren will be asked to design and create usable items from used paper and stationery items, thus highlighting the immense potential of recycling in everyday situations.
The winning exhibits from each school will be presented at a dedicated stand at Paperworld Middle East 2015. Trade visitors and guests at the exhibition will be asked to select what they feel are the best projects and the winners will be announced at the end of the show. All the winners and finalists will be awarded back-to-school gifts by sponsoring Paperworld Middle East exhibitors.
'The aim of the competition is to not only underline the importance of recycling in our everyday lives but to promote this message to the next generation, who will be instrumental in spreading awareness about the sustainable use of resources in the future,' said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organiser of Paperworld Middle East.
Paperworld Middle East presents a wide range of back-to-school products and stationery and the increasing use of recycled and sustainable materials by leading international manufacturers has been a noticeable rising trend.
Since its Dubai debut in March 2011, Paperworld Middle East has grown into a trade and networking event of significance that attracts industry-wide interest from international and regional manufacturers and suppliers looking to strengthen their market presence.
Paperworld Middle East 2015 will once again feature the popular Green Office Area, which is supported by the Ministry of Environment and Water. This dedicated section will showcase everything from sustainably produced essential office supplies like pens and paper, to the more elaborate items such as paper shredders – a helpful guide for any visitor eager to source “green” products.
Paperworld Middle East 2015 will also feature The Wrap Star - the region's only gift wrapping competition that gives employees at local retail outlets and malls a chance to showcase their gift wrapping skills.
