The inaugural Kids Retail Forum, being organised on the sidelines of the onging Playworld Middle East 2014, made a successful debut, attracting a healthy response from industry professionals and trade visitors.
Designed to increase awareness about the current state of the childrens products industry and provide key insights into developmental issues and industry regulations, the forum has proved a popular addition to the Playworld Middle East programme.
The Forum began with a presentation by Eng. Moteb Almezani, Head of Notification Section, Conformity Assessment Department, GCC Standardisation Organisation (GSO) on the organisation’s role in monitoring safety standards in children’s products in the GCC.
This was followed by a presentation on the G-mark, a certification standard for toys being sold in the GCC. Delegated were briefed on the success of the certification programme in the region by Eng. Mansour AlBaqami, G-Mark Manager, Motabaqah
The New Age of Toy Design was explored by Hani Orfali, Managing Director, DistincTopia before Muna Khamis Salmin, Director – Consumer Safety Services, QCC rounded off proceedings with a presentation on Building Trust in Children’s Toys through the Trustmark.
Today (Thursday, March 6th), is the final day of Playworld Middle East 2014. The exhibition featuring Toys and Games; Baby, Infant and Pre-school products; Bicycles and Sports Equipment; Models and Electronics; Dolls and Children’s Lifestyle products, has had a successful run so far, with strong interest from regional trade visitors and buyers.
