Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha is proud to announce that Ms. Roxana Jaffer, the CEO of Holiday Inn Dubai in Al Barsha and Director of Sovereign Hotels (BV I) Ltd, has been honoured with two of the most coveted leadership awards in the UAE and India recently.
Ms. Roxana Jaffer was conferred with the “Global Inspirational Leadership Awards 2015 for Outstanding Leadership” at the “Women Leadership Achievement Awards 2015″ hosted by the World Women’s Leadership Congress (WWLC) at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, on February 14, 2015.
On February 25, 2015, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan honoured Ms. Jaffer with the “Best Woman in Hospitality UAE” at the “Women Leaders in UAE Award.” She was chosen by an international panel of eminent jury on the parameters of Leadership, Ethics, Interpersonal Skills, Charisma, Visionary, A Change-Agent and Business Acumen.
Receiving the Women Leadership Achievement Awards 2015, Ms. Jaffer said, “It is a very overwhelming experience to be receiving this great accolade. I am deeply honoured and most grateful to the World Women’s Leadership Congress for considering me worthy for this very special recognition.”
She gave credit to her team for the achievement and said that she was not driven at any time to seek recognition or accolades for being a guide and role-model to her followers.
“It is humbling to know that as a leader, standing in for what’s right and displaying courage to uphold my convictions, that I should be nominated. I thank my team who took time to complete the rigorous document,” she said.
Under her leadership, the Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha has become a recognised partner of the United Nations World Food Programme. In furthering their global mandate, Jaffer has played an incredible role in raising funds to feed over 200,000 hungry children in the world. She has also founded the NGO “Advent for Building Human Capital (abc)” which has been doing phenomenal work in Pakistan, India and the UAE, helping discerning individuals to rise to a higher level.
Jaffer has also touched hearts through the hotel’s “Loves You Campaign.” Since its inception, the hotel staff have successfully held various awareness and fund-raising drives in their own small way, not only to build a civil society in the UAE but also to help the needy in other parts of the world. Some of the most incredible works include the Valentine’s “Tea Party” for Children with special needs, making major contribution in the 2010 Pakistan Flood rehabilitation programme, and hosting Iftar for underprivileged and orphan children.
