As part of “Our Sports Summer Initiative”, Dubai Sports Council & Dubai World Trade Center organize Distinctive Events with Participation of Thukher Social Club’s Members
 

As part of the fruitful events of “Our Sports Summer Initiative”, and in the framework of the continuous support for elderly citizens, Dubai Sports Council (DSC), Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) & the Community development Authority organized entertaining community sports events at the courts of Dubai Sports World, with participation of Thukher Social Club’s members, and in the presence of H.E. Saeed Hareb, the Secretary General of DSC / Mr. Mahir AbdulKarim Julfar, the Executive Vice President at DWTC.
 
Thukher Club beat DSC in the tug of war, while both teams tied in a draw 4 – 4 in the football competition. Thukher Club’s members presented distinctive sports performance and confirmed the importance of organizing these events which motivate and enable them to continue trainings, participate in various sports activities, maintain their fitness & vitality and meet with their friends & colleagues in the different stages of life.  
 
H.E. Saeed Hareb stated: “Today we are pleased to meet with Thukher Club’s senior citizens in this distinctive event, which aims to motivate this eminent category to continue the exercise of sport & social activities. We are also pleased toward their great interaction and gathering with their counterparts, and to see them remembering the good memories with their colleagues in the stadiums & the study and to be associated with the members of DSC & DWTC. Today’s competitions in tug of war & football confirm that elderly citizens are still able to perform distinctively.
 
He added: “We thank our permanent partners in Dubai World Trade Center toward their remarkable collaboration to organize this distinctive event for elderly citizens, who are proud of what they provided to the community. We are keen to support them to continue their exercise of sports activities, and therefore we have collaborated with DWTC & the Community Development Authority to create convenient atmosphere at the courts & pitches of Dubai Sports World. We have accordingly launched this program for elderly citizens, which is held every Wednesday, comprising various activities. We have also provided them with ample spaces, so that they can exercise their favorite sports and enjoy practicing various activities”.  
 
Mr. Mahir Julfar thanked DSC & the Community Development Authority for launching this spectacular initiative and remarked: “We are pleased toward the continuity of our partnership to launch such wonderful initiatives throughout the year, targeting all social classes in general and the elderly citizens in particular”. 
 
The Thukher Club’s members thanked DSC & Dubai World Trade Center for providing them with unique opportunity to participate in such events, and they confirmed the importance of the continuity of these initiatives which confirm our wise leadership’s support for elderly citizens, besides the continuity of their positive role in society & their efficient contribution in various events.
