Corum recently unveils three unique versions of its Admiral 45, available only at the Bristol – legendary Parisian luxury hotel and new home of Corum retailers Kronometry 1999

The Admiral 45 Bronze has been sailing the watchmaking seas for just over a year, proudly displaying its patented bronze case, teak pontoon dial, and iconic pennants, arranged around the twelve-sided bezel to display the hours befittingly for lovers of water sports and ocean-going races – and appealing to everyone who enjoys an assertive, sporty chic style.

Based on this creation, Corum and watch retailers Kronometry 1999 (Monaco, Paris, Courchevel) have devised a highly exclusive limited edition, destined for the most discerning connoisseurs: the Admiral AC-ONE 45 Squelette “Kronometry”, for those seeking extra thrills on their wrist!

A concept stretched to its limits
To bring this piece to life, the teams from Corum and Kronometry 1999 sought to extend the original concept of the Admiral 45 Bronze, developing the nautical feel still further, taking bronze to its absolute limits, and in doing so, and showing off the mechanism to even greater advantage.Work focused first and foremost on the bronze. Its original glossy finish has been aged more, making it look as if it has spent an eternity beneath the waves. The brown tones have been faded to darker greys and blacks, as if raised from more hostile depths.

Three versions – each with its own atmosphere
The new hues of the Admiral AC-ONE 45 “Kronometry” are highlighted by three new flange options. The first model features a red/burgundy flange to go with the dominant colours of the bronze case; the second model sports a grey flange, matching case and bezel highlights. The third model offers more of a contrasting, deep-sea feel, with a black flange that sets off the darker shades of the tarnished bronze and the crown protector.

The Admiral’s Skeleton
The dial has also undergone a major transformation – it has completely disappeared, as if rusted to bits or eaten away by salt water. And indeed, that’s the essence of the story told by this Admiral AC-ONE 45 Squelette “Kronometry”; even the sturdy teak dial has apparently been unable to withstand the onslaught of time and spray. All that’s left in this new Admiral AC-ONE are its workings: powerful, indestructible, and immutable, bearing witness to time – ceaselessly passing, sparing nothing. All that remains of the Admiral 45 Bronze’s original dial is literally a Skeleton – thus revealing the automatic movement and date.

Each 45-millimetre-diameter model is powered by Corum’s CO 082 caliber, with a 42-hour power reserve. A dedicated patented brown leather strap has been created for this edition which also bears the “Kronometry” logo, engraved on the rear sapphire crystal. Just one of each model will be made.
