Dubai, UAE, December 16, 2018: Eberhard & Co's ageless classic, the Extra Fort Automatic set the standards for the modern chronograph. With its elegant lines and dynamic persence, this graceful timepiece with a sporting pedigree, grew to typify Eberhard & Co.'s ongoing relationship with the world of motorsport.
The 40mm Extra‐fort Automatic (time and date functions) has an automatic mechanical movement protected by a durable steel case, which is waterproof to 50 metres. The case back is fixed with six screws, and features a screw‐in crown, while the dial is protected by a domed sapphire glass.
Eberhard introduced a few design tweaks in the new versions of the Extra Fort at Baselworld this year. including the vertical “frappée” lines in the central and
outer parts of the dial, which contrast with a smooth “azzurrée” ring onto which the applied Roman numerals and hour indices are attached. The pinstripe dial, with a date window at 6 o’ clock, creates the appearance of a refined dress watch. The dial comes in three versions, silver-finish, black and gray.
The watch runs on the SW200 movement with automatic winding, the equivalent of the workhorse ETA 2824-2, with a power reserve of 38 hours. The SW200 is at least as accurate as the ETA original.
