Handbag Design and Fashion Drawing Now Feature on the Agenda
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 4th August 2013 – Renowned UK based fashion college, London College of Fashion (LCF) is bringing it's Short Courses programme to the Middle East from 20 September – 01 October 2013 featuring high-profile and expert tutors and a range of new and exciting subjects.
For the first time in the Middle East, two brand new courses will be in offer – Handbag Design and Fashion Drawing.
“Our two exciting new courses – Handbag Design and Fashion Drawing – have been introduced into the programme following requests from students. Accessories continue to be one of the fastest growing areas of fashion, especially in the Middle East, with handbags leading the way, so the course is a great addition to our schedule. Fashion drawing is a popular focus right now and will allow local Emirati designers to communicate their creative ideas more freely and help build their collections,” said Linda Roberts, Senior Business Manager, London College of Fashion.
For those thinking about creating their own collection, the Handbag Design course is ideal as it shows what's involved in creatively and practically producing a range of bags with coordinating purses or wallets. Students will start with researching, and understanding the market, before exploring fabric selection, current trends in surface decoration, range building and where to manufacture the collection.
The course tutor is Ann Saunders who has extensive experience across many areas of the fashion industry and runs her own accessories company working extensively with product sourcing in Europe and China She has also worked as a stylist and consultant on a number of television programmes
The practical Fashion Drawing course will help students explore drawing styles and techniques used in the fashion industry today. The tutor will show how to express designs and ideas figuratively, building up students' confidence with pencil and paper! Through a series of innovative exercises the class will learn how to draw a fashion figure, sketch garments, and seamlessly combine figures with clothing.
Tutor Ana Stankovic-Fitzgerald is a practicing illustrator and has had freelance commissions published online, in magazines, books, as advertisements and in corporate literature.
Being held at the Vida Hotel in Downtown Dubai, the courses are designed for those seeking international standards of tuition from lecturers who are all practicing London fashion professionals.
