Have you ever known anyone with a congenital heart defect? Whether it's a hole in the heart or hypoplastic left heart syndrome, they're all defects that need to be taken care of. They are often diagnosed in infancy and sometimes before birth. But some defects are harder to spot than others and may not be diagnosed until much later in childhood or even adulthood.
