Inspirations for the perfect family Iftar

Dubai, June 25, 2013: Global home furnishing retailer IKEA announced special activities for Ramadan in its stores across the UAE beginning June 27. In keeping with the Ramadan season, IKEA will focus on the theme of dining to inspire customers in creating the perfect ambience for quality family time.

John Kersten, Managing Director, IKEA-UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman said, “Ramadan is a very important time for us at IKEA and this year we have attempted to build a strong campaign around the idea of bringing families together. Through our product range, restaurant offers, Småland and children's activities we hope to create a bond with our customers and bring the spirit of the Ramadan season to life.”

The campaign stretches across the IKEA range of furniture, cutlery, crockery, cookware, textiles and lighting to offer tips and solutions related to ways of creating a beautiful and inspiring dining atmosphere. The table settings are specially designed to create a sense of togetherness with family and friends – a value celebrated through the holy month.

Beginning July 10, each week for 4 weeks the store will also feature a selection of products that would be highlighted and available at a reduced price. These products are chosen from across the entire IKEA range and are unique to each week.

In keeping with its annual practice, the popular IKEA restaurant will also feature a special daily Iftar meal priced at a value AED 20. While the Swedish Food Market would sell the usual delicacies all day, the IKEA restaurant and exit bistro will neither serve nor permit eating prior to Iftar timings.

The stores will also host a festive Ramadan tent close to the exit bistro, offering complimentary dates, coffee and traditional beverages to customers breaking their fast. The IKEA store at Yas Island Abu Dhabi also has a donation box in association with Red Crescent to encourage the practice of sharing and giving to the less fortunate.

In addition to the popular Småland children's play area at IKEA, the store at Dubai Festival City will also offer face painting, henna and weekly drawing competitions through Ramadan to engage children while parents shop. Children at the Yas Island store can also enjoy weekly drawing competitions through Ramadan and face painting and henna over Eid.

The Ramadan activities in-store will conclude on August 10. Details on the list of activities and store timings can be found on www.IKEAuae.com
