Pacific Controls Partners with Berkeley Lab to Develop Technology to Reduce Energy Usage in Buildings

Dubai, United Arab Emirates- July 1, 2013: (ME NewsWire) Pacific Controls (PCS), the leading provider of ICT enabled managed services and converged engineering solutions for buildings and infrastructure projects globally, has partnered with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, (Berkeley Lab), to develop technology that aims to reduce energy use in buildings.

The Berkeley Lab, in Berkeley, California, managed by the University of California, is a United States Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory that conducts a wide variety of unclassified scientific research for DOE's Office of Science.

The partnership, named the Building Research Incubator (BRI) project, will evaluate the integration of Berkeley Lab's focus areas including energy simulation, automated demand response, advanced electric metering and communication technologies using Galaxy, the state of the art platform of platforms. Galaxy, the state-of-the-art enterprise service delivery platform, launched in 2010 and hosted on the Pacific Controls Cloud provides managed services across verticals for management of its ecosystem comprising of energy, real estate, homeland security, healthcare, hospitality, transportation, education, financial, industrial and retail.

PCS will provide funding and technical assistance with regard to integration with their products and gain insights into cutting edge research performed at Berkeley Lab. Pacific Controls will provide a global perspective to the research and guidance to help advance the state-of-the-art solutions in energy efficiency, demand response, sensors, controls and communications for buildings.
