A regal scent made collectible
After the success of the already well-known Godolphin, Parfums de Marly is proud to reveal what could be considered as its more exquisite creation – the Godolphin Coffret.
Sold in a luxurious velvet-lined box, the Godolphin Coffret set contains the 125mL Godolphin fragrance and an 8mL golden Tolla.
The Godolphin fragrance is inspired by the iconic Arabic stallion, Godolphin, the royal ancestor of today's pedigree horse racing champions. As a Parfums de Marly creation, the fragrance carries with it the rich history of equestrian royalty as well as the free spirit and power of the Godolphin Arabian, the most powerful and elegant horse breed of the 18th century.
This distinguished scent is composed of complex and deep aromas which are artfully blended together to create a uniquely sophisticated and masculine experience. Opening with fresh notes of thyme, spicy saffron and cypress, the fragrance is anchored by rose, orris and jasmine and finishes off with heady woody notes of white cedar wood, vetiver\leather, musk, amber and vanilla. The scent exudes a potent magnetism, yet remains refined and luminous in its composition.
As for the Tolla, it will be available in a beautiful, extravagant gold container similar to a scroll holder the great kings used to pass on messages to different lands. Filled with oil of Godolphin essence and pure Soufi Oudh, this refined object will surely surprise you with its originality and scent.
Godolphin Coffret is being released as a Limited Edition available in all main perfumeries in the region from July onwards.
Coming out just in time for Ramadan, this gift set will make the ideal Eid surprise!
PARFUMS DE MARLY
In the XVIIIth Century, France was the flagship of fragrances, with Grasse and Paris as its leading centers. Horses were the pride and glory of Versailles.
Perfume came into its own with the court of Louis XV, named “La cour parfumee”(the perfumed court).Renowned for its scent extravagances. Every day, the king requested a different scent for his apartments and streams of aromatic scents sprang from the royal fountains.
In 1743, in memory of his great-grandfather Louis XIV, Louis XV commissioned Guillaume Coustou to sculpt his famous masterpiece for the grounds of the Chateau de Marly (Marly Castle). This magnificent work of art, known as “The Marly Horses”, earned a place on the Champs Elysees Avenue in the heart of Paris in 1974, where it can still be admired today.
Parfums de Marly revives the spirit of lavish receptions and festivities held in the Chateau de Marly, for the delight of members of the Royal Court and foreign dignitaries.
Through its original concept, Parfums de Marly rekindles the spirit of fragrances from the splendour of the XVIIIth Century, when the finest perfumes were created for King Louis XV as a tribute of the prestigious horse races he so fervently admired.
