Dubai, UAE 27 June 2013: The Dubai Courts has launched a new campaign entitled 'Smart Court', which aims to provide the best ideas possible to develop and improve services and procedures for smartphone applications. The campaign will be conducted under the slogan 'Your Suggestions Make the Future,' and is intended to assist in Dubai Courts' aim of supporting the nomination of the Emirate of Dubai to host the Expo 2020.

The 'Smart Court' campaign is designed to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. At the launch of the 全mart Government' programme, which is in accordance with the implementation of Sheikh Mohammed's vision, he stated: 'We want our citizens to engage in the everyday business of government, and access government services, via their mobile phones'. His Highness continued: 'The joy of existence is to do something one has not done before, or did not expect to do at all. Therefore, we are eagerly anticipating your creativity.'

The 'Smart Court' campaign was launched in Dubai Courts, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Bin Hazim, Director General of Dubai Courts along with senior officials, and a large gathering of staff and media personnel.

In his speech during the launch ceremony, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Bin Hazim said that in line with Sheikh Mohammed's 全mart Government' initiative, the Dubai Courts had hastened to launch the 'Smart Court' initiative as it aspires to achieve the Dubai Courts' vision, namely 鼠eadership in court performance.'

He stated: 泥ubai Courts has realised outstanding achievements in the provision of e-services to its clients and the general public, and launched several e-services that aim to facilitate court action and save time and effort. The last of these services we launched was the 舛ase Remote Registration' programme, named 羨l-Salfaʹ; the first-of-its-kind in the region. This service allows law firms and litigants to register cases electronically. All documents and identification papers can be uploaded online, and the system also automatically sets the date by which an individual case will be reviewed, along with the section within which the case is registered. All this is carried out automatically by the online system without the need to be physically present at the Courts' premises.

The Director General of Dubai Courts added: 的n order for the Dubai Courts to establish the UAE as an 粗-country', and to keep up with rapid changes taking place in the world in its transition to the digital economy based on knowledge, we are looking forward to realising the vision of the wise leadership as soon as possible. This will assist the Dubai Courts to evolve into a 全mart Court' based on modern technology, allowing the client / end-user to complete their work and business transactions, and reach their objectives, in the shortest, fastest and most accurate way.

Bin Hazim extended the invitation to all workers in the judiciary and legal institutions in Dubai to generate as many creative ideas as possible, in order to contribute to the upgrading of the work and performance in Dubai Courts. This process will also contribute to the development and improvement of services and procedures that are delivered via smartphone applications.

The campaign focuses on several objectives, namely: raising the readiness of Dubai to host the World Expo 2020; strengthening co-operation with Dubai Courts' strategic partners by engaging them in the suggestion of creative ideas; developing an action plan through which responsibilities to ensure the effectiveness of the team's work implementation and procedures relating to the process of studying the suggestions will be assigned; and, finally, designing and leading a campaign to invite all workers in the judicial sector in Dubai to generate as many creative ideas as possible which may contribute to the upgrading of the work and performance in Dubai Courts.

The Dubai Courts has enabled all the staff of the Dubai Government to take part in the campaign as well as lawyers, experts and students of colleges of law. Valuable awards will be given to those who suggest the best creative ideas. The awards were divided into several categories, namely: Gold Idea, including the best imaginative idea to develop and improve services and procedures through smartphones applications, Imaginative Ideas, Ideas for Developing and Improving Services and Procedures, Ideas of Smartphone Applications, and Student Ideas.

The Dubai Courts will be receiving suggestions through its 鮮ebras' smartphone application. The suggestion application form is available through 鮮ebras' mobile app and must be filled out from the date of the campaign launch and August 20th. Suggestions submitted must be entirely new, having never previously been submitted to any other party. Participants are allowed to provide as many suggestions as they wish.
