AXA Gulf performs a Corporate Responsibility Week To increase commitment and pride of employees

Employees across the region educated on risk awareness initiatives

AXA Insurance Gulf – one of the largest and the leading non-life international insurers in the region – held its 3rd edition of its Corporate Responsibility Week between June 8 and June 16, 2013. Part of its worldwide events, the Corporate Responsibility Week is the opportunity for AXA's entities and their employees to express their commitment towards Corporate Responsibility.

During the week, AXA Gulf employees showcased how CR initiatives are integrated in AXA's core business, from wellbeing products, to diversity and environment initiatives, risk prevention services or Charity donations.

The week is aimed at inspiring commitment and pride among AXA employees and reinforcing the importance of CR, educating them about risk awareness and bringing them together to build momentum and emotion around a common theme.

“CR is our inherent responsibility: as part of one of the world's largest corporations, we have a role as an international corporate citizen; and as a company whose business is to protect people over the long term, we have a responsibility to help build a more sustainable society. Corporate Responsibility is in some ways the soul of what we do every day.

Our strategy is to place CR at the heart of our business through “Risk Research and Prevention”. We are committed to using our skills, resources and expertise to build a better understanding of the risks faced by individuals and society at large as well as creating awareness of how such risks can be prevented.” said Jérôme Droesch, CEO of AXA Gulf.

The CEO set the ball rolling for the CR Week activities in the region, by highlighting the importance of CR in the business on June 9. This was followed by a fitness and well-being day on June 10, AXA Challenge to boost healthy lifestyle on June 11, environment campaign and tips on June 12 and donation day on June 13. Similar events were also held in other AXA offices in Qatar, Bahrain, KSA and Oman where almost all of the 800 employees were involved.

“Corporate Responsibility expresses AXA's objective to protect our customers and society in the broad sense but also to educate them towards the risks, over the long term. As part of our Ambition AXA strategy, Corporate Responsibility contributes to product innovation, efficiency, and better risk management,” said Alice Steenland, Group Vice President, Corporate Responsibility.

As part of this CR Week, on June 13, AXA's employees worldwide came together for the third Challenge for Risk Research and Education. They volunteered and participated in different sports activity to collect as many kilometres as possible; these kilometers are then converted into euros and donated to risk education and prevention projects. AXA Gulf will send its donation to WWF UAE.
