Smiles and more for Sharjah Autism Center

Sharjah – June 17, 2013 – DEO, a Dubai based event/CSR planning firm in association with some of major business concerns, announced their ‘Smile of Hope' initiative for the benefit of the Sharjah Autism Center.

Smile of Hope has helped gather the corporate sector in a unique fashion, where every participant has contributed in different capacities making the program and its results very holistic.

“Our vision with Smile of Hope was to empower the corporate sector to extend their support towards the Sharjah Autism Center, without binding them to traditional donation/contribution slabs. This not only resulted in increased number of partners the program gathered but also helped diversify it ability to support SAC,” said Salem Al Khayyal, Chairman, DEO.

“I wish to thank our partners, Matajer, Shurooq – Al Majaz, Emirates NBD,  Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Toy Triangle, Wild Wadi, Dubai Dolphinarium, Sharjah Co-op, Hilton Sharjah, Showtech ME, Magic Planet, BabyShop, Antics Land, S.C Johnson, Emirates Industrial City, Department of Children's Center, Transportation Solutions and McDonald's, but rather congratulate them on this most amazing collective achievement,” he added.

Smile of Hope aims to support the Sharjah Autism Center, by raising awareness for autism, enhancing the social exposure of its students and by giving it a complete facility makeover.

“Sharjah Holding's Matajer malls are delighted to support ‘Smile of Hope,' an initiative which highlights our commitment to bringing families closer. In addition to enhancing family ties and promoting a sense of togetherness, the event is also aligned with our business and social objectives in creating neighbourhood retail and mixed-use communities. Matajer malls currently serve the needs of Sharjah residents in the districts of Al Quoz, Al Juraina, Al Khan and Al Mirgab and Sharjah Holding works diligently to make Matajer malls available to more residents around Sharjah,” said Walid Al Hashimi, Sharjah Holding's Chief Executive Officer.

“It is a very emotional moment for all of us at the Sharjah Autism Center to achieve such attention from so many fine people. We are truly humbled by the collective efforts put in by the organizers of Smile of Hope and their partners, said Muna Bagh, Director, Sharjah Autism Center

The Smile of Hope vision however does not quite stop here… a festive finale that is scheduled for November 2013 will allow people to become a part of this family…just by sharing a smile of their own. The event's highlight is launching of a large cube with 6200 Smiling faces of children from across the UAE. The cost of participation is priced at AED 50 with redeemable vouchers worth AED 250 at our partnered outlets Wild Wadi, Dubai Dolphinarium, Magic Planet, Baby Shop, Toy Triangle and Antics Land

The event is scheduled for the Universal Children's Day for November 21st and 22nd at the Al Majaz Waterfront – Sharjah.
