Nespresso Hosts Top Culinary Talent from High End Gastronomy at Two Day Coffee Academy to Enhance Coffee Knowledge in the Culinary World
Dubai, UAE, 30 May 2013– Nespresso, the pioneer and reference in portioned premium coffee, hosted the first-ever Middle East Chef Academy in Dubai this week, with over 20 top chefs from the region's leading hotels and restaurants.
The Nespresso Chef Academy was specifically designed by a team of Nespresso experts including Green Coffee Expert Edouard Thomas and award-winning Master Sommelier Giuseppe Vaccarini, and took place at the Emirates Hospitality Academy in Dubai. The Academy is a reflection of the long-term partnerships Nespresso has established with leading individuals involved in gastronomy and some of the world's top gastronomic institutions, helping to gain further insights and perspectives into the important link between coffee and the culinary experience.
The two day programme included a series of workshops specifically designed to enhance world-class chefs' and sommeliers' knowledge on the potential of coffee as the centerpiece of the gastronomic experience, with seminars and sensory instruction given on the art of tasting coffee and its harmonization with food and beverage such as wine, fruit and water.
Over 20 chefs and sommeliers from around the MENA region attended from some of the top hotels and restaurants including Music Hall, Oman's renowned Ziggy Bay Six Senses Resort, Jeddah's five star Park Hyatt and the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh to name just a few.
Speaking about the first installment of the Nespresso Chef Academy in the Middle East, Pierre Debayle, Country Business Manager for Nespresso Middle East, Africa and Caribbean said;
“Nespresso is honored to host this first edition of the Nespresso Chef Academy in Dubai. We welcomed some of the best chefs of the region to the inspiring city of Dubai, with the support of our Coffee Sensory Expert Edouard Thomas and Giuseppe Vaccarini, President of ASPI Sommelier. This is the ideal platform to share our passion and expertise of coffee and to interact with the chefs in order to explore further the role of coffee in gastronomy.”
He continued; “We will take this opportunity to launch three additional permanent flavored Grand Crus: Vanilio, Ciocattino, Caramelito. These flavors were already highly appreciated by our consumers and are a perfect link between gastronomy and our ambition to provide the ultimate coffee experience.”
