UAE haircare spend to jump by more than a quarter in five years to Dh644 million

Dubai, UAE 28th May 2013 The UAE's premier hairdressing academy, Salon Educators along with their partners, are looking forward to present Hair Education at BeautyWorld Middle East 2013, a three-day programme offering both members of the public and professionals valuable hair care tips and tricks. During the event, the duo will be showcasing some techniques to give those who attend a snippet of what will be offered at their upcoming Summer Hair Camp and new short courses.

The summer hair camp is available to those aged 14 and above, providing an insight into what a career in hairdressing could be like, allowing them to make a decision on their future with the help of international experts flown in to share their knowledge and experience.

Introducing the short courses to the middle-east market contributes to improving the quality of services offered in the region. Market research carried out by the duo suggests that a flexible learning option for current hairdressers and professionals is necessary as their busy lifestyle limits their ability to commit to a long term course. Offering these bite-sized courses allows professionals to work towards a qualification at their own pace.

The UAE's hair care spend is expected to jump by more than a quarter over the next 5 years, from Dh507.9 million last year to Dh644 million in 2017. As well as this, Salon Educators has now formally developed an endorsed rolling relationship with UK-based global training organisation City & Guilds, offering Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs) levels 1, 2 and 3. is currently available across 39 countries in 14 different languages, including Arabic. With the Government policies on Emiratisation, having such a platform available in Arabic reaches out to the local community and provides them with an alternative option of professional training which results in internationally recognized qualifications.
