Toro Toro Brings “Peru Mucho Gusto” - the Finest of Peruvian Food and Culture to Dubai

Dubai, UAE 27 May 2013: Jaime Pesaque, one of Lima's top chefs and the latest rising star in the culinary world is all set to grace Dubai's hospitality scene when Toro Toro hosts its first ever Peruvian festival.  The ‘Peru Mucho Gusto' food and culture festival (translation: a lot of taste from Peru) will run from May 27 to June 6 at the award-winning pan-Latin restaurant located at Grosvenor House Dubai. It will bring the very finest of Peruvian culture right to the city's doorstep.

As the head of a sprawling global empire of Peruvian cuisine, Jaime Pesaque has propelled his native food to the international stage, garnering praise in a number of cities including New York City, Miami and, of course, Peru. During the festival, he will work closely with Toro Toro's Chef De Cuisine Alfredo Augusto Vidaurre, as well native of Peru, to serve diners with authentic favourites infused with the unique flavours of his home country.

During the festival, Toro Toro will also come alive with authentic Peruvian decorations that will allow diners to experience all aspects of Peruvian culture, transporting them on a journey for both the mind and the palate.

The menu features a number of must-try dishes that are perfect for sharing. ‘Small Share' starters include delicious ceviche, fresh seafood dishes and a corn cake with wild mushrooms, which serve as the perfect precursors to the rest of the meal. The larger share plates are sure to delight the senses with their unique Peruvian flavours, and offer an impressive variety from the ever-savoury crispy chicken served with aji amarillo parmesan sauce, roasted potatoes, sautéed spinach, and poached quail egg to the duck rice – a confit leg and grilled breast prepared with beer, cilantro, piquillo peppers, choclo, and baby carrots. Finally, there is always room for desert especially when it involves a traditional suspiro¸ often referred to as the Royal Delight of Peru, made with dulce de leche foam, black quinoa cookie, grilled pineapple, banana ice cream and almond oil. And, finally, no Peruvian meal is truly complete without the country's signature beverage – Pisco – brought in all the way from its home country to be served in Toro Toro. 

Peru Mucho Gusto will run from May 27 to June 6 for dinner. A la Carte option is available. Toro Toro is open for dining and drinks from 8.00pm - 2.00am Monday - Wednesday and until 3.00 am on Thursday and Friday. Closed on Sundays.
