Iams SO GOOD! Hosts Concert for Dogs

Concert set to celebrate real love between people and pets at the launch of new Iams SO GOOD!

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On June 8, 2013: Iams is celebrating the real love between people and pets at Canada's first ever concert for dogs by Iams to launch its new Iams SO GOOD! dog food. As a valued and cherished member of the family, Iams believes that dogs deserve to eat delicious and nutritious food and have a little fun, too. The Iams SO GOOD! Doggie Jam will bring together as many as 5,000 dogs and their owners to celebrate real love at an event to remember. A 43 piece classical orchestra will entice pets of all sizes to enjoy the party!

To better understand the love between pets and their owners, Iams commissioned a survey facilitated by Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS). The findings revealed that Canadian dog owners almost unanimously (95%) feel their dog is a member of the family*, which shows the special importance to provide them with nutritious and delicious food. According to the same survey, 96 per cent* of Canadian dog owners believe they know their dog well, yet only 32 per cent* are aware of the ingredients in the food they feed their dog*. With Iams SO GOOD! dog food, pet owners can rest easy knowing it's made with no added sugar, no dyes and no artificial preservatives: just real ingredients that taste 100 per cent yummy.

“Life is too short to eat boring and tasteless food, which is why we are thrilled to be launching our new line, Iams SO GOOD! in tandem with hosting Canada's first ever pet concert by Iams,” says Manon Lapierre, Communications Manager at P&G Canada. “We know pets are a part of the family and encourage pet lovers from the Greater Toronto Area to join us for a day of fun by celebrating their special bond with their furry friends!”

Of the Canadian dog owners surveyed by TNS, 35 per cent* say hearing is their dog's strongest sense and over one third of respondents say their dog enjoys listening to music*. But what kind of music do dogs love the most? With the intention of finding this out and getting thousands of tails wagging and dogs howling, the Iams SO GOOD! Doggie Jam will feature the Toronto Concert Orchestra and Chorus playing classical “dog” inspired music that is sure to delight pets and owners alike.

The Iams SO GOOD! Doggie Jam, will be the most exciting Iams pet-friendly event of the year! This special concert is designed for every member of the family, including those on four legs, to enjoy together. The event will offer attendees a free product coupon sample**redeemable for a bag of new Iams SO GOOD!, demonstration booths and music for everyone to enjoy.
