Saudi Hair Care Market Was Worth SAR 1.8 Billion In 2012

Hair care is expected to be among the strong growth segments in the flourishing regional beauty industry, according to organiser of Beautyworld Middle East 2013, Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

Research by leading analysts and Beautyworld Middle East Knowledge Partner, Euromonitor International, estimates that the hair care market in Saudi Arabia was worth approximately SAR 1.8 billion in 2012 and this is expected to increase by 44% to SAR 2.6 billion by 2017.

Beautyworld Middle East, the leading international trade fair for beauty products, hair, fragrance and wellbeing in the region, which takes place next week from Tuesday 28th May to Thursday 30th May in Dubai, will reflect this growth with a large number of international hair care brands showcasing their latest product lines aimed at the region.

Men are at the forefront of driving much of this growth with hair loss treatments having been the fastest growing sector at 11% in 2011.

Euromonitor International estimates that the hair care market in the two leading markets in the GCC - KSA and UAE - is expected to reach SAR 3.3 billion by 2017, keeping the GCC high on the priority lists of international hair care majors.

“Hair care and cosmetics have always been high on the regional priority list.
