Large Number Of Leading Players To Participate In 2013 Edition Of Materials Handling Middle East

With the countries of the GCC figuring increasingly as prominent shipping and trans-shipment destinations, they are also becoming the focus of logistics and supply chain majors interested in being part of that growth.

The region boasts a number of surging economies riding on buoyant oil and gas demand and is home to established commercial and logistics hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait, Manama and Muscat.

Apart from being large scale exporters of crude oil, natural gas and petrochemical products, the countries of the region are also large scale importers of consumer goods and durables. They are also in the process of expanding their transport and logistical infrastructure, keeping the region on the radar for global transport and logistics service providers.

As the region's premier dedicated trade gathering for the logistics, supply chain and materials handling industry in the region, Materials Handling Middle East 2013, will feature a wide spectrum of global logistics service providers, when it takes place in Dubai in September.

“The materials handling industry is rapidly transforming the way it does business with ongoing innovations and new technology playing a leading role in enhancing efficiencies and productivity levels,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of organiser, Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

“Materials Handling Middle East 2013 is widely representative in scope and reach with nearly 90% of the leading players in the logistics industry participating. A majority of the world's leading forklift equipment manufacturers will exhibit their latest product lines in Dubai. The exhibition will also showcase a broad spectrum of the latest developments and trends shaping the industry and will be of immense benefit to GGC based manufacturers, suppliers and retailers looking to streamline their logistics operations,” he added.

The Middle East, along with key Asian and Latin American markets is one of the key growth areas for materials handling equipment globally, making Materials Handling Middle East 2013 a focus of interest among leading international brands and service providers. Organisers expect key areas of interest in 2013 to include the latest innovations in inventory control, warehousing management, the growing role of ICT in increasing streamlining workflow processes and enabling more efficient transportation management.

“We are glad to be a part of yet another edition of Materials Handling Middle East, which is the biggest gathering of the logistics industry regionally,” said David Dronfield of FAMCO, who have been regular participants over the years and represent a range of leading international industrial and construction brands. “We look forward to having fruitful interaction with potential clients, many of whom see the exhibition as a key sourcing event.”

Span Group, who will be participating with their largest ever stand, has teamed up with leading international materials handling equipment manufacturers to present a range of racking and shelving systems, storage accessories, packaging equipment, dock doors and levellers. Camille S. Samaha of Span Group said: “Materials Handling Middle East is extremely important to us as we tend to pick up a lot of business leads here. The quality of visitors has been outstanding and we look forward to another successful outing in September.”

This year's seventh edition of the exhibition will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 10th to 12th and will focus on four major product areas: Materials Handling & Lifting Equipment; Logistics and Postal Services Providers; Value added Logistics Services and Warehousing Equipment.

Materials Handling Middle East 2011 – the last edition – attracted a wide variety of buyers and trade professionals, representing logistics companies, wholesalers & retailers, government organisations and commercial end users.
