New Regional Vice President to Bolster Cloud Security and Increase Channel Profitability
Dubai, United Arab Emirates:- Trend Micro Inc. (TYO: 4704;TSE: 4704), the global leader in cloud security, announced today the appointment of Ihab Moawad, Vice President for Trend Micro Middle East, Africa and Mediterranean with immediate effect.
Moawad joins Trend Micro at a time when cloud security and consumerization are a major concern for IT managers across the Middle East.
His priority will be to continue delivering Trend Micro's value-added security solutions to help protect regional organizations. Moawad will also focus on further growing the company, as well as strengthening and building its already robust distribution and channel model.
“In 2013, IT managers here will have to deal with the highest level of targeted attacks the region has ever witnessed. Today's attacks are financially motivated, and we are here to help our customers better protect themselves. I also believe that Trend Micro's offerings will help customers, embrace private, public, and hybrid cloud computing more holistically,” commented Moawad.
In a shifting threat landscape, where old malware designed for spectacular crashes and widespread annoyance have given way to new menaces that work undetected to steal data. Moawad is adamant that the rapid expansion of new cloud technology in the Gulf region will not be accompanied by a parallel growth in cybercrime.
Trend Micro's channel ecosystem will also be a top priority for Moawad. Trend partners can look forward to increased focus on establishing and building long term relationships, streamlined communication, and increased profitability.
Moawad brings a wealth of in-depth experience to his new post, with more than 22 years of international experience in the IT and Telecom industry.
“Moawad joins a very strong Trend Micro team, already boasting a robust market presence,” commented Wael Mohamed, Executive Vice President Corporate Strategy and Global Field Operations at Trend Micro. “I am pleased to have someone with Moawad's experience, who I know will further ensure continued success for Trend Micro in this important market.”
