-ACD sees an increase in the number of UAE students wishing to pursue higher studies in the USA-
Dubai, UAE: May 08, 2013: The American College of Dubai (ACD) has concluded a comprehensive transfer-articulation agreement with the prestigious DePaul University in Chicago, IL, USA. The agreement allows for the smooth transfer of ACD students to DePaul after completing one or two years of ACD's University Transfer Program. Students who take advantage of this option could save over $50,000 in tuition fees as well the cost of two years' housing and expenses in the USA.
According to William O'Brien, President/CEO, American College of Dubai, “With the rising cost of higher education both in the UAE and abroad, we are seeing an increased interest in our transfer concept allowing for the initial portion of their degree applicable university studies to be completed in an affordable local setting. This trend is expected to continue as increasing numbers of students look to the US for higher studies.”
DePaul University is among America's leading private universities with over 25,000 students enrolled in more than 275 undergraduate and graduate programs that include some 28 specific business majors as well as IT, Communications, Law, and Education. The university is particularly proud of the fact that over 80% of its graduates are either in full time employment or graduate studies within six months of graduation.
The agreement was coordinated by Dino Pruccoli, DePaul's Director of International Admission, who regularly visits the MENA region and is well familiar with students from the UAE. ACD has already transferred a number of students to DePaul University all of whom have achieved strong academic results which prompted Mr. Pruccoli to advocate for a formalized relationship between the two institutions.
ACD was established in Dubai in 1991 and has transferred several thousand students to universities in the USA, Canada and other destinations.
