Wok It Restaurant

Full of Far Eastern Flavours Opens in Bur Dubai

If you have a yen for Far Eastern flavours, Wok It is definitely the place to go in Dubai.  Located in Bur Dubai, close to Bur Juman Mall, the aromas alone of this stand-alone restaurant will transport you to the Far Orient.

The five-star trained kitchen staff, led by award winning Yerson Behi, will take you on a journey of memories and new discoveries with menu delights featuring the very best of Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean, Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

Find traditional favourites such as chicken noodle soup, Bakmi or Nasi Goreng, Tom Yum Seafood fried rice and succulent satay.  Wok fried dishes are a house speciality.  See the Master of “Wok Play” at work in the display kitchens.  Curry Laksa, Thai Fish curry are worth a try, or, if spicy is your taste, be sure to order the Beef Rendang – a traditional Indonesian beef stew with extra bite!  However the spiciness of dishes can be adjusted on request.

Explore “Street Food”.  Chef Yadi has come to Dubai to create just two dishes on the menu: the savoury “Martabak Telor” starter, made of a fine saj-like dough, tossed into a thin pastry and filled with egg and meat, and accompanied by a homemade spicy sauce; and sweet “Martabak Manis” dessert – a combination of cheese, chocolate with cashew nuts – one bite and you will be smitten! Chef Yadi uses secret family recipes passed down from his father and grandfather.  You won't find a more authentic dish anywhere.

Wok It has 92 seats and is divided into two sections – discreet teak tables with comfortable cream leather armchairs for an initimate or private business meal, or the bench areas, suitable for groups and families, where you can watch the theatrics of the kitchen preparation.  The walls are sandstone and a soothing waterfall in the middle of the room evokes a Feng Shui-like tranquility.

The restaurant concept is the brainchild of owner Feras Alsalameen, and Chef Yerson Behi who together designed the kitchen and front of house and fine-tuned a menu highlighting the very best Far Eastern dishes, for a completely authentic experience.  They hand-picked their team, to offer five star experience and standards without the normally associated price point.  Diners can enjoy a full meal for two for an average price of AED150.

Wok It has already generated a considerable following through word of mouth among the city's Consular Quarter in Bur Dubai.  Ministers and celebrities dine side by side in complete contentment.  Diners travel especially from as far as Oman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujeirah and Abu Dhabi to come to Wok It and enjoy their favourite Far Eastern fare.
