KFC adds Zinger to Value Lunch in Response.
UAE, Dubai - 02 May 2013 - Following a movement supported by 9,818 fans on an independent Facebook page, KFC has announced the introduction of their new Lunch Treat Meal, now including the Zinger Sandwich, due to popular demand.
The move started with a few posts on various websites where KFC fans expressed their love for KFC meals and asked for the new lunch offer. Few posts turned into 35, spawning a Facebook page created by the people who started inviting friends to like and post similar requests for KFC to include the Zinger Sandwich in their Lunch Treat Meal.
On February 24, 2013, a blogger posted: ¬ “So I was so excited when I heard about this new Facebook page in the name of the Zinger cuz I can't get enough of the sandwich. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it has all the seasoning that we come to KFC for. But put that in a bun, top it with cheese, and I'm thinking can I have some more please? Too bad it's not on already on the value lunch menu, but if enough us show how much we love it, I'm sure we can change their minds. Who's with me on getting the Zinger on the value menu?”
KFC Management was overwhelmed by the requests and posts that it decided to offer the top-selling Zinger Sandwich as part of the Value Lunch Menu for two weeks.
Fans reacted again. They all expressed their love and respect for KFC for listening to them but most were quite disappointed that it was only available for two weeks. That ignited a flurry of new posts by fans asking KFC to keep the offer for longer, with yet others asking for it to be made permanent.
As a brand that keeps up with fans, KFC has been following up on the post and decided to act upon them. This was done by announcing that the Zinger sandwich would become part of the Value Lunch menu permanently.
At the moment the new Lunch Treat Meal which includes two pieces of chicken, a Zinger sandwich and fries is a permanent item on the menu.
Following the success of that drive, KFC customers are now also calling for the return of the “All You Can Eat” meal. They have already launched a Facebook page and are determined on gathering likes and sharing posts. With the former campaign proving KFC management listens, and that the brand will do whatever it can to cater to customers in the region, is the next step bringing back this meal too?
