Bar 44 Helps Beat the Summer Heat with New Resident International Jazz Artist

Dubai 30 April 2013: On the top floor of Grosvenor House Tower One, Bar 44 is where the chic crowd heads when the sun goes down. Music lovers in search of a classy, upscale and intimate venue – with incredible panoramic views of Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah – may have just struck gold.

Grosvenor House Dubai, already well-known for its superior food and beverage outlets, will now be hosting Bulgarian jazz singer Bobby Valchev, for six nights a week at Bar 44. Drawing inspiration from classic crooners Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong, as well as contemporary heartthrobs Michael Bublé and Jamie Cullum, Bobby Valchev's live vocal creations span across a variety of music styles including jazz, pop, funk, latin and tango.

According to Bobby, listening to live jazz music is a little like falling in love. “Once you find that connection, you will never forget the feeling,” he says.

The musical pioneer, composer, pianist and now Bar 44's resident performer, brings guests a rare and exclusive solo performance on Sundays and Mondays and entices his audience with his vibrant acoustic-piano collaboration with Serah Chihanga on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and with Florentina Tuchel on Wednesdays.

“The best part of our appearances at Bar 44 is that we will never perform the same song in the same way,” he remarks. “This is what keeps things interesting for both myself, as a performer, as well as my audience. Our songs are different and unpredictable, but have a touch of familiarity so the audience can recognize it. It's the kind of music that leaves lasting memories because it comes straight from the heart!”

Promising to be one of this summer's hot spots and a musical sanctuary, Bar 44 is located on the 44th floor of Tower One and provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the Dubai Marina and the Jumeirah Palm. This Champagne and Cocktail Bar not only offers magnificent views and premium entertainment, but also has an extensive selection of over 150 variants of single malts and blends including a unique Japanese range for the more discerning guests.

Bar 44 is open for drinks from 6pm to 2am Friday – Wednesday, and until 3am am on Thursday. Patrons can opt to sit in either the smoking or non-smoking section of the bar. For reservations please call 04 317 6000 or for more information visit:  www.bar44-dubai.com.
